Your role at Clorox: The Network Planning Manager (NPM)

The Network Planning Manager (NPM) supports the Kingsford Business Unit by leading mid‑ and long‑term supply planning activities across a complex, highly seasonal supply network. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining a 3‑24 month supply plan that balances customer demand, manufacturing capacity, inventory strategy, service levels, and financial objectives.

The NPM serves as a key business partner within the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) process, driving supply sufficiency, identifying strategic tradeoffs, and recommending solutions that support growth, customer service, and working capital objectives. The role requires close collaboration across Supply Chain, Commercial, Marketing, Finance, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Logistics teams to ensure alignment between business plans and operational execution.

In addition to network planning responsibilities, this role provides thought leadership for long‑range supply strategies, capacity planning, inventory optimization, and innovation commercialization initiatives.

The Network Planning Manager will influence critical business decisions by translating complex supply chain challenges into actionable strategies that enable sustainable growth and operational excellence.

Network Planning

Own the medium‑term (3‑24 month) supply plan based on demand forecasts, network capacity, inventory strategies, and business priorities.

Define inventory policies and working capital requirements through end‑to‑end capacity planning, rough‑cut capacity planning, and scenario analysis.

Lead strategic supply‑demand matching activities, evaluating risks, opportunities, bottlenecks, and tradeoffs across the network.

Develop supply scenarios and recommendations that balance customer service, cost, inventory, and profitability objectives.

Manage lifecycle and portfolio planning processes, including innovation launches, product transitions, discontinuations, and SKU rationalization initiatives.

Support commercialization efforts by ensuring supply readiness for innovation launches and portfolio expansion opportunities.

Develop executive‑ready supply narratives and recommendations for Leadership Team discussions, S&OP, and business reviews.

Enhance planning visibility and decision‑making through reporting, analytics, visualization tools, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Long‑Term Supply Sufficiency

Own the long‑term supply sufficiency process, ensuring alignment between growth plans and network capabilities.

Identify capacity constraints and network bottlenecks across manufacturing, sourcing, warehousing, and transportation.

Develop mitigation strategies to address supply risks through inventory positioning, capacity investments, sourcing alternatives, and network optimization opportunities.

Monitor supply plan performance and key KPIs, identifying root causes and corrective actions when performance deviates from targets.

Partner with Manufacturing, Procurement, Engineering, and Logistics teams to assess future supply requirements and support strategic network decisions.

Lead seasonal supply planning strategies to ensure readiness for peak demand periods while optimizing working capital throughout the year.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Serve as the primary IBP supply planning partner for the Kingsford Supply Chain organization.

Collaborate closely with S&OE, Demand Planning, Inventory Planning, Manufacturing, Logistics, Commercial, Marketing, and Finance teams to ensure high‑quality planning assumptions and business alignment.

Act as a key supply chain representative for innovation, commercialization, and portfolio management initiatives.

Influence cross‑functional decision‑making by providing data‑driven insights on supply risks, capacity tradeoffs, and strategic options.

Foster strong partnerships across functions and actively contribute to the broader IBP and Planning community.

Provide informal coaching, mentorship, and thought leadership to planning teammates and project teams.

Business Budgeting & Strategic Planning

Develop and own supply chain assumptions supporting annual operating plans, financial forecasts, and budget cycles.

Establish sourcing, production, inventory, warehousing, and capacity assumptions that support both operational and financial objectives.

Partner with Finance to evaluate the working capital and P&L implications of supply chain decisions and strategic scenarios.

Support long‑range planning activities through capacity assessments, inventory strategies, and growth scenario evaluations.

Key Skills & Capabilities
  • Strategic Thinking: Translate diverse data and business inputs into forward‑looking supply strategies. Evaluate long‑term tradeoffs and recommend actions that support growth and operational excellence.
  • Financial Acumen: Understand the working capital, service, and P&L impacts of supply chain decisions. Balance inventory investments against customer service and financial objectives.
  • Supply Chain Expertise: Deep understanding of supply planning, inventory strategy, capacity planning, network management, and manufacturing operations. Ability to identify and resolve complex supply chain constraints and bottlenecks.
  • Data & Analytics: Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Ability to leverage data, reporting tools, visualization platforms, and AI‑enabled capabilities to improve planning effectiveness. Experience developing insights and translating analytics into business actions.
  • Leadership & Influence: Lead and influence in proactive, reactive, and ambiguous environments. Build strong partnerships and credibility across functions and organizational levels. Communicate complex concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and business audiences.
  • Influence without direct authority and drive alignment toward business objectives. Demonstrate intellectual curiosity, continuous improvement, and a strong sense of ownership. Mentor and develop others through coaching, knowledge sharing, and thought leadership.
What we look for:
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Analytics, or related field.
  • 8-10+ years of progressive supply chain, planning, operations, or IBP experience.
  • Strong experience in Supply Planning, S&OP/IBP, Network Planning, or Integrated Supply Chain Planning.
  • Experience in consumer products, manufacturing, or other fast‑paced supply chain environments preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing highly seasonal or demand‑variable businesses.
