About the Role:

Client is seeking Network Operators to serve as onsite specialists for network and structured-cabling issues across its AI data-center infrastructure.

  • These individuals will serve as Tier 2/3 escalation points for network and ICT-related incidents, troubleshooting physical-layer faults, validating repairs, and ensuring rapid resolution of issues that may impact customer workloads.
  • This role sits within the Data Center Operations organization and is assigned to the River Bend, LA site.
  • Network Operators will work closely with Tier 1 and Tier 2 technicians, Network Operations, Infrastructure Deployment, Network Reliability Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to maintain the reliability and performance of high-density AI infrastructure.
  • The ideal candidate bridges two worlds: a strong foundation in structured cabling and fiber infrastructure, combined with enough network fundamentals to interpret device-level diagnostics and confirm that physical repairs have restored connectivity.
  • Candidates should be comfortable serving as a primary onsite network and ICT escalation resource and taking ownership of issues through resolution.
Responsibilities:

Serve as a Tier 2/3 escalation point for network, hardware, and cable-plant incidents reported by customers or detected through monitoring.

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve physical-layer issues, including fiber faults, transceiver failures, patch-panel problems, and cable-plant defects.
  • Help mature the local team beyond troubleshooting by supporting process, metrics, and automated diagnostic operations.
  • Perform fiber inspection, cleaning, testing, and light-level validation to identify and remediate connectivity issues.

4 plus years of hands-on experience in data-center environments, with a focus on structured cabling, fiber infrastructure, or network hardware support.

  • Proficiency with fiber troubleshooting tools, including visual fault locators, optical power meters, light sources, and fiber inspection scopes.
  • Understanding of fiber types, including single-mode and multi-mode, connector standards, and acceptable light-level thresholds for data-center optics.
  • Familiarity with structured-cabling standards and best practices for fault identification and remediation.
  • Ability to interpret basic network-interface diagnostics, including link status, optical-power readings, and LLDP/neighbor information.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills, including the ability to write clear escalation summaries for remote engineering teams.
  • Willingness and ability to work onsite at the River Bend, LA data-center location.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience using OTDR equipment for fiber-fault localization.
