Job summary

Bank of America is seeking an experienced Network Operations Specialist II to provide frontline support for internal data center and DMZ infrastructure. You will coordinate incident triage, lead bridge calls, and drive rapid resolution across routing, switching, and security domains within a 24x7 global environment.

The role requires deep knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, QoS, WAN/LAN technologies, and strong communication with stakeholders. Weekend shifts are required as part of regional coverage.

Qualifications

• Expert experience with TCP/IP, IPv4, Layer 2 protocols, BGP, QoS, OSPF, VPNs and firewall/load balancer concepts.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for complex network problems across routing, switching and security domains.
• Experience with JIRA, Confluence, Agile and SCRUM ceremonies.
• Familiarity with configuration management tools such as Forward Networks and HPNA.
• Experience with proactive and reactive tooling like SevOne, Splunk, Netscout, Wireshark and related monitoring suites.
• Knowledge of Python scripting, REST/JSON, and exposure to Django/Flask a plus.
• Baseline Linux skills and ability to follow established network designs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, and cross-team collaboration.
• Ability to work across time zones and support 24x7 operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead production support triage and bridge calls for network incidents.
• Manage incident communications and escalation to leadership and vendors.
• Coordinate troubleshooting across routing, switching, firewalls, SD-WAN and security services.
• Identify service impacts and drive timely recovery actions.
• Develop and maintain runbooks, playbooks and documentation for outages.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership during shifts.
• Support governance, quality improvements and post-incident reviews.
• Work with cross-functional teams to align actions with business priorities.
