Job summary

Amentum's Network O&S Internship program at Schriever Space Force Base in Colorado Springs or Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville offers hands-on exposure to Cisco networking tasks within the MDA IRES contract. The internship is anticipated to last six months and requires enrollment in an IT/CS/CE degree, with a DoW Secret clearance and readiness for night shifts.

Responsibilities include upgrades, configurations, monitoring, and documentation of network topology, IP allocations, and inventory.

Qualifications

• Must be pursuing an associate or bachelor’s degree in IT/CS/CE with sophomore standing.
• Must have basic understanding of TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP and the OSI model.
• Must have DoW IAT Level II certification or equivalent cybersecurity knowledge.
• Must be able to work night maintenance windows to support live network operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Cisco IOS router and switch upgrades, rollbacks and troubleshooting.
• Assist in configuring and troubleshooting routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Monitor network performance, bandwidth utilization, and system alerts.
• Perform physical device installations, patching cables, and auditing server rack diagrams.
• Document network topology maps, IP addresses, and inventory lists.
