Job summary

LT Tech Source LLC in South Lake Tahoe, CA is seeking a Network / Low Voltage Cabling Technician for on-site, full-time work. You will install, terminate, label and test network, voice and data cabling in commercial and residential environments, reading blueprints and wiring diagrams.

Qualifications

Role Description

The Network / Low Voltage Cabling Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in South Lake Tahoe, CA. This role is responsible for installing, terminating, labeling, and testing low voltage cabling, including network, voice, and data lines in commercial and residential environments. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting blueprints and wiring diagrams, routing cable through ceilings, walls, and conduits, and ensuring neat, compliant installation of patch panels, jacks, and network hardware. The technician will troubleshoot connectivity issues, perform routine maintenance on cabling and related equipment, and collaborate with other team members and clients to resolve technical problems. The role also involves maintaining accurate documentation of installations, following safety standards and local codes, and providing courteous, professional on-site support.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in Electrical Maintenance and Electrical Equipment handling.
• Candidates should possess a solid understanding of Electricity and basic Electrical Engineering concepts.
• Candidates should possess strong Troubleshooting skills for cabling, connectivity, and related hardware.
• Experience with low voltage cabling (Cat5e/Cat6, fiber, coax), terminations, and cable testing tools is beneficial.
• Ability to read technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and follow installation standards (e.g., TIA/EIA) is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail, safety awareness, and ability to work on ladders, in tight spaces, and at varying heights.
• Effective communication skills, customer-focused attitude, and ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certifications (e.g., low voltage, BICSI, CompTIA Network+) are a plus.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for travel to client sites in the South Lake Tahoe region.
