Everforth Apex Systems is seeking a Network Lab Technician to support a next‑generation enterprise security lab in Santa Clara, onsite. You will handle basic network administration, rack and stack activities, cabling, and thorough documentation within a lab or data center setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of experience in a lab or data center environment.
• Ability to manage cables and organize a lab workspace.

Responsibilities

• Enable remote access to lab services via SSL VPN and RDP/VNC/View Client.
• Rack and stack equipment within the lab.
• Organize and maintain the lab in a clean, presentable state.
• Identify cable connections and their correct use.
• Audit physical and virtual devices, including connections, serial numbers, and IP addresses.
• Maintain and update documentation.
• Monitor ticket queues and re-distribute or update tickets as needed.
• Cable network topologies based on requests from engineers and lab admins.
• Monitor power and cooling usage within the lab.

Network Lab Technician

Location: Santa Clara, California (Onsite)

Duration: 1 year contract

Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated and organized Network Lab Technician to join a dynamic team creating next-generation enterprise security products. The ideal candidate will be proficient in basic network administration, rack and stack procedures, network cabling, and documentation. This role requires a self-starter who can identify and resolve issues proactively within a support or engineering network lab or Data Center environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Enable remote access to lab services for end-users via SSL VPN and RDP/VNC/View Client.
• Rack and stack equipment within the lab.
• Organize and maintain the lab in a clean and presentable state.
• Identify different cable connections and their correct use.
• Audit physical and virtual devices, including connections, serial numbers, and IP addresses.
• Maintain and update documentation.
• Monitor ticket queues, re‑distributing or updating tickets as needed.
• Cable network topologies based on requests from engineers and lab administrators.
• Monitor power and cooling usage within the lab.

Required Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma/GED

Experience: 1-3 years of experience in a Lab or Datacenter Environment.

Technical Skills

• Strong cable management skills with experience running fiber and copper cables in a data center.
• Basic understanding of VMware virtual environments, including powering on and off VMs.
• Basic experience with CENTOS, Ubuntu, or other Linux distributions.
• Strong understanding of cable patch panel connections.
• Ability to differentiate between copper and fiber optics and cables.
• Knowledge of how to SSH and console into devices.
• Basic understanding of power and cooling principles.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs+.

Preferred Qualifications

• Basic troubleshooting skills for network outages.
• Working experience with Firewalls.
• Hands‑on experience with Cisco and Arista switches.
• Basic Windows administration experience.
