Job summary

Apex Systems is hiring a Network Engineer for an aerospace defense client in Sunnyvale, CA. The candidate must be a U.S. citizen eligible for DoD clearance and have a Secret clearance with potential for TS upgrade.

The role is 100% on-site in Sunnyvale, with day shifts and 40-hour weeks. Responsibilities include configuring and maintaining secure network infrastructure, TACLANE crypto equipment, and RMF-compliant STIG implementations, plus VTC and VMware support as needed.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of networking experience.
• Active DoD-issued Secret clearance (TS upgrade possible).
• CompTIA Security+ certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Configure, deploy, troubleshoot, and monitor network devices (switches, routers, firewalls, threat defense).
• Configure and troubleshoot TACLANE cryptographic equipment and re-keying efforts.
• Implement STIGs per RMF requirements and document variances for accrediting authorities.
• Assist with network engineering and architectural changes and update documentation.

Network Engineer

We're hiring for a Network Engineer with an aerospace defense client supporting the Air Force in Sunnyvale, CA!

Job # 3052680

Candidates must be U.S. citizens able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense security clearance as a condition and continuation of employment.

Location: 100% on-site in Sunnyvale, CA

Schedule: M-F, Core Business Hours (Day shift. 8-hour shifts; standard 40-hour week)

Pay Rate: $60-70/hour (depending upon experience)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Configure, deploy, troubleshoot, monitor, etc. network switches, routers, firewalls, etc. (threat defense systems), provide recommendations on solutions and fixes, and implement fixes as needed.
• Configure and troubleshoot TACLANE for cryptographic equipment, assist with re-keying efforts as needed, and deploy new units as needed.
• Research, test, troubleshoot, and implement Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs) in compliance with Risk Management Framework requirements and document variances and artifacts for submission to the accrediting authority.
• Assist with engineering and architectural design changes and implementations on the network, and update and generate documentation as required.
• Configure, troubleshoot, support, etc. all Video Teleconference (VTC) equipment and deploy new units as needed.
• Assist in other MASC projects as needed to include installing equipment and removals, installing fiber optic and copper transmission cables, remote site installations, installation of Video-teleconferencing systems, working with VMware Virtualization technologies, and desktop support issues.
