Job summary

Hocking Valley Community Hospital in Kentucky seeks an IT Technician to troubleshoot, repair, and install computer equipment and local area networks. You will assist in cabling, user support, and maintaining documentation for IT systems.

The role requires strong diagnostic skills, knowledge of Windows operating systems, and the ability to work with vendors for equipment installation. On-call duties may be required; candidates should reside in the local area.

Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences or related field with 2–4 years IT experience.
Experience with computer hardware, LAN/WAN, wireless networking, domain and access controls.
A+ Certification and Networking+ preferred.
Strong knowledge of Windows OS, Office, DB2, and server backups.
Ability to instruct others in system and application usage.
Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills for network/computer issues.
Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, install, and test computer equipment and LAN components.
Provide user support for hardware and software; use test equipment to diagnose faults.
Assemble, install, configure, and test computer equipment for LANs.
Assist manufacturers with installation of new equipment; support repair and testing.
Complete work orders for equipment installation, device connections, and network components.
Fabricate cables to interface peripherals with computers and networks.
Install and support hubs, switches, routers; maintain fiber and copper networks.
Configure servers to work with programs; ensure regular backups.
On-call for evenings/weekends/holidays and reside in locale.
Maintain network documentation and manuals.
Perform related duties as assigned.
