Job summary

Cloudflare is seeking a Software Engineer for the Cloudflare Network Interconnect (CNI) team in Austin, TX. This role focuses on building and operating private network interconnects and supporting Cloudflare’s enterprise customers by connecting networks to Cloudflare’s global infrastructure.

You will work across Rust, Go, PostgreSQL, Prometheus, Kubernetes, Linux networking, and BGP routing, collaborating with Product Management, Network Engineering, and Infrastructure teams.

Qualifications

• Experience with systems-level programming in Rust, Go, C, or C++.
• Strong understanding of IP networking and interconnect technologies.
• Experience building, deploying, debugging distributed systems.
• Experience on-call rotations with customer impact.
• Willingness to adopt AI tools in workflow.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and extend systems that provision, monitor, and orchestrate private network interconnects at scale.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Network Engineering, and Infrastructure teams on ambitious initiatives.
• Participate in all stages of the software development lifecycle from design to deployment.
• Work with Rust, Go, PostgreSQL, Prometheus, Kubernetes, and related technologies.
• Handle on-call duties as part of Run What You Build culture.
