Job summary

Google is seeking a Network Engineer to deliver end-to-end connectivity for metro sites and to optimize capacity workflows for edge devices. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in CS/engineering or related field.
• 6 years of telecommunications experience at carrier scale with optical network infrastructure, transmission systems, L2/L3 routers, and data services.
• Experience planning/leading network deployments and creating deployment packages and Methods of Procedures (MOP).
• Experience coordinating with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications environment.

Responsibilities

• Support and participate with Design, Deployment, and Planning teams to deliver end-to-end connectivity for assigned metro sites.
• Execute and troubleshoot capacity workflows for edge network devices across Google's global network.
• Translate common network solutions into BOMs and detailed design packages for third parties with minimal oversight.
• Manage creation and maintenance of network documentation and deployment plans (DPKs), ensuring technical accuracy.
• Apply scripting and software development to automate workflows, analyze data, and drive process optimizations.

• Experience planning and coordinating with field operation technicians, engineers, contractors, or vendors in a telecommunications working environment.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with network infrastructure, rack and stack, device commissioning, and quality acceptance control.
• Experience in collaboration across multiple levels and functions, and passionate to engage and influence tactical and strategic decision-making.
• Scripting and software development skills (e.g., Python or Go).
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time may be needed during project peak time.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
US: $150000 - $217000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits

• Apply scripting and software development skills (e.g., Python) to automate workflows, perform data analysis, and drive process optimizations within your assigned scope.
