Sharp Brains is seeking an on-site network technician to stage and deploy equipment in Chattanooga, TN. The role emphasizes hands-on wiring, WLC deployment, and validation of physical connectivity across data-center-grade networks.

The ideal candidate will perform cross-connects, cabling, and equipment staging, while supporting remote engineers during cutover and providing site updates.

Qualifications

• Experience with rack and stack activities.
• Cisco WLC installation and deployment.
• Fiber optic and Ethernet cabling experience.
• Basic network troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working in enterprise data center or network environments.

Responsibilities

• Stage and prepare equipment prior to deployment.
• Rack, install, and cable Cisco 9800 Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs).
• Perform power, fiber, and Ethernet cross-connects.
• Verify switch port availability and physical connectivity.
• Install SFP modules, fiber patch cords, and Ethernet cables.
• Support remote engineers during implementation and cutover.
• Validate installation and troubleshoot basic connectivity issues.
• Remove and package legacy network equipment (when required).
• Provide site updates and completion photos.
