Job summary

Sharp Brains Solutions is seeking a Smart Hands / Network Deployment field-engineer to install and replace two Cisco 9800 Wireless LAN Controllers (WLCs) at a site in Fargo, ND. The role focuses on physical installation, cabling, and coordination with a remote network team.

Responsibilities include staging equipment, rack & stack, fiber/ethernet cabling, console access, and documenting progress with photos. You will follow remote instructions and report completion to the team.

Qualifications

• Experience with field deployment of networking gear is required.
• Ability to perform rack and stack in a data-center or telecom site.
• Familiarity with Ethernet and fiber cabling standards.
• Basic networking knowledge and ability to verify port connectivity.
• Ability to follow remote engineer instructions and report status.
• Must document work with photos and completion updates.

Responsibilities

• Stage equipment, confirm space, power, ports, cables and SFPs.
• Rack and secure two Cisco 9800 WLCs; install SFPs; connect fiber/ethernet.
• Perform cross-connects and verify connectivity; use PuTTY for local access if required.
• Work under remote supervision; report port/link status and troubleshoot basic issues.
• Remove old controllers and package for shipping if applicable.
• Provide completion/status reports to the remote team.
