Job summary

Sharp Brains Solutions is seeking an experienced Smart Hands / Network Field Engineer to provide onsite support for deploying Cisco Catalyst 9800 WLCs. You will stage, install, and test hardware, coordinate with remote teams, and ensure end-to-end connectivity during cutover.

The role requires hands-on WLC deployments, cabling expertise, and strong communication to coordinate with engineers onsite and remotely.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with Cisco Wireless LAN Controller (9800 Series) deployments.
• Network cabling, structured cabling, and fiber connectivity.
• Basic network troubleshooting and connectivity verification.
• Excellent communication skills for coordination with remote engineers.

Responsibilities

• Stage and prepare all equipment before implementation.
• Install and rack two Cisco Catalyst 9800 WLCs.
• Complete power and network cross-connects.
• Verify switch port availability and physical network connectivity.
• Install and connect required fiber and Ethernet cabling.
• Provide onsite Smart Hands support during implementation and cutover.
• Coordinate with remote engineering teams during deployment.
• Validate hardware installation and end-to-end connectivity.
• Remove and decommission legacy WLC equipment where applicable.
• Label, package, and prepare decommissioned equipment for return shipment.
• Capture site photographs and provide completion updates.
