Job summary

City of Buffalo is seeking a Network Engineer to oversee configuring, installing, maintaining and troubleshooting data networks, servers and VOIP systems. The role collaborates with MIS staff to resolve network OS issues, with planning and execution of network security measures.

Responsibilities include setting up LAN/WAN, configuring routers, managing CallManager and VOIP equipment, and supporting multi-platform network solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree with relevant network experience; MCP required.
• Experience with LAN/WAN, TCP/IP and VOIP is essential.
• Knowledge of network security and data protection practices.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain data networks and servers.
• Troubleshoot LAN/WAN, VOIP, and server issues across departments.
• Plan and implement secure network solutions between platforms.
• Support MIS with network OS problems and user issues.
