Job summary

Scientific Research Corporation is seeking a Network Engineer (SME) to design technical solutions for complex problems and provide engineering support for project solutions, interpreting requirements and allocating them to technical components.

The role involves configuring and managing secure networks, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and switches, with extensive collaboration across teams; travel up to 30% may be required.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of hands-on network development, implementation, design, defense, and administration.
• At least three of those years at enterprise level.
• Security+, Network+, CCNA or CCNP certifications are required.
• Experience configuring layer 1–4 switches and Cisco equipment.
• Ability to implement DISA STIGs and achieve an ATO.
• Strong communication skills and self-motivation.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary network SME for the program.
• Design, implement, and test tactical network solutions including compute, storage, and virtualization.
• Analyze and optimize network performance, latency, and throughput.
• Design scalable, secure network architectures.
• Configure firewalls, VPNs, IPS, NAC, and related security products.
• Provide Tier I-III support and documentation for builds and changes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver mission-driven solutions.
