Job summary

M.A. Polce is seeking a Network Engineer for its professional services group. This in-person role is based in Rome or Syracuse, NY, requiring residency in Central NY. The position supports IT infrastructure across on-prem, private cloud, and public cloud with a focus on automation and reliability.

The role centers on standardizing processes, delivering high-quality service, and maintaining security and performance across client environments. A 37.5-hour work week is offered with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• BS in Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Cybersecurity or related IT field, or equivalent experience.
• CCNA Certification.
• Minimum 3 years' experience in network management and TCP/IP fundamentals (DNS, FTP, SSH, ACL, VLAN, DMZ, BGP) and Routing & Switching.
• Customer service oriented with strong communication and organizational skills; able to work under pressure.
• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances for clients; pass background checks.
• Hold a valid driver's license and be able to commute to Central NY.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical specs for quotes or proposals and prepare SoW documentation.
• Act as SME to interpret customer requirements and communicate to Account Executive.
• Administer network and security devices; design, troubleshoot, and implement network designs.
• Perform hardware replacements and software upgrades; maintain network documentation and monitoring.
• Manage MFA solutions; oversee VoIP systems (Cisco Webex/Call Manager).
• Develop automation for monitoring, reporting and configuration changes; produce automated metrics.
• Maintain SOPs and documentation; manage change records.
• Conduct after-hours on-call rotation; support off-shift upgrades.
