Job summary

HMSA is seeking an experienced network engineer to operate and support its enterprise network across Hawaii. You will implement, maintain, and upgrade network infrastructure, perform packet captures, and ensure security through audits and contingency planning.

The role requires collaboration with IS teams, vendors, and business units, with on-call responsibilities and remote-site support across the Hawaiian Islands. Strong communication and Microsoft Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or technical certificate or equivalent.
• At least 3 years IT infrastructure experience.
• Expertise with Cisco/Aruba networking gear and firewalls.
• Experience with load balancers, IPSec VPN, NAC, data center infra.
• Packet capture analysis and network monitoring tools experience.
• Strong communication to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Operate and support HMSA's network infrastructure and plan enhancements.
• Implement, maintain, upgrade, and document network configurations.
• Monitor networks with monitoring tools and analyze capacity and growth.
• Perform packet captures and analyze results.
• Ensure security through audits, patches, and contingency plans.
• Coordinate with vendors and other IS teams; support infrastructure projects and change management.
• Plan and schedule repairs, asset management, and replacement plans.
• Provide after-hours on-call and travel to remote locations as needed.
• Participate in continuing education and knowledge sharing.
• On-call for critical incidents; remote locations across the Hawaiian Islands.
