Program Summary

The Marine Corps’ Maritime Prepositioning Force (MPF) and Marine Corps Prepositioning Program have been operationally invaluable in supporting our Nation’s interests across the world. This program provides essential elements needed to support and execute crisis response, global reach, and forward presence. It enables the rapid deployment of Marine Air Ground Task Forces (MAGTFs) and augment individual Marine units forward deployed, strengthening alliances, securing strategic access, and defeating adversaries. MPF is a keystone in the Marine Corps’ security capabilities, supporting operations across the Joint Operational continuum, including shaping, deterrence, and stabilization.

Job Summary

This position involves configuring, securing, and maintaining information systems, including hardware and virtual environments, in support of the Marine Corps Prepositioning Program – Philippines (MCPP-PHIL). The Network Engineer will report to the MCPP-PHIL Project Manager. Initial training will occur in Jacksonville, FL, followed by USMC Contractor Replenishment Cell (CRC) training for placement in Subic Bay, Philippines.

Roles and Responsibilities

1. Plan, coordinate, and implement information management services using computer hardware, peripherals, mobile devices, and software.
2. Install, configure, secure, upgrade, and recover data systems and hardware.
3. Administer user security and access policies.
4. Implement and coordinate multiple access points via VPNs and wired/mobile connections through MCEN and local providers.
5. Implement a customer Help Desk management system.
6. Implement a risk management program.

Experience / Knowledge

• Knowledge of DoD and NIST policies, standards, and guidelines for network infrastructure.
• Experience with networking tools for monitoring network usage, capacity, performance, and security.
• Configuration of switches, routers, firewalls, VLANs, VOIP, VPNs.
• System backup and restoration skills.
• Problem analysis, identification, fixing, and documentation of network/server issues.
• Help Desk implementation and management experience.

Basic Qualifications

• BSc in information technology or related field, or equivalent experience and certifications.
• At least ten years of progressive experience managing information systems, including five years in help desk roles.
• U.S. citizenship required.
• Valid state Driver’s License.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DOD secret security clearance.
• U.S. Passport or ability to obtain one.
• Pass FBI background check with no violations.
• Ability to obtain work visa and Alien Employment Permit for the Philippines.
