Qualifications

• Master’s degree in CS or related field and 6 years of network engineering experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field plus 8 years total experience in network engineering.
• Alternate: 12 years total with a cert (Arista, Cisco, or Juniper tracks) in lieu of degrees.
• IAT II baseline certification as defined by DoD 8570.01-M is required.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: A current and active TS/SCI clearance with a Maryland (MD) polygraph is required for consideration. CCA candidates will not be considered for this position at this time.

The Network Engineer will perform all network services from network design through implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of existing networks and will involve hands-on support for harwarde issues. Analyzes design, specifications, and related documents. Performs general LAN/CAN/WAN administration. Schedules conversions and cutovers. Coordinates with all responsible users and sites to resolve network or system incidents. Translates business requirements into telecommunications (e.g., LAN, CAN, WAN, Voice and Video) requirements, designs and orders. Performs engineering analysis of telecommunications alternatives in support of strategic modernization efforts and telecommunications enhancement design for medium and large-scale telecommunication infrastructures. Assists telecommunications end users, telecommunications operations personnel, and telecommunications strategic program management with network interfaces.

This position may require the occasional travel to the Maryland area.

Requirements

Qualifications

• AMaster’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, Information Security Systems Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university.Six (6) years of relevant professional experience providing Network Engineering support and trainingcommensuratewith network engineering curriculum.
• In lieu of aMaster’sdegree, aBachelor’sdegree from an accredited college or university in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline and anadditionaltwo (2) years of relevant professional experience providing Network Engineering support for a total of eight (8) years.
• In lieu of aMaster’s or Bachelor’s degree an additional six (6)years experienceproviding Network Engineering support and a Certification in an industry standard (Arista Configuration Essentials, Cisco Certified Network Associate, or Juniper Certification Tracks (Automation & DevOps, Cloud, Data Center, Design, Enterprise Routing and Switching, Junos Security, Service Provider Routing and Switching)) may be substituted for a total of 12 years.
• An Information Assurance Technical (IAT) level II baseline certification as definedby DoD 8570.01-M isrequired.

Desired Skills

• Cisco ASA firewall and JIRA ticketing experience
• Arista Configuration and sustainment experience
• Familiar with Netapp, SafeNet, and Visio, while supporting STE/STN and SSP compliance
