Jovian Concepts, LLC is seeking a System Engineer Level 4 for an exciting opportunity in the San Antonio, TX area . At Jovian Concepts, our people drive our success. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: A current and active TS/SCI clearance with a Maryland (MD) polygraph is required for consideration. CCA candidates will not be considered for this position at this time.

The Systems Engineer will work as part of a small team supporting laboratory and live operational systems. The environment consists of Linux-based physical hardware and virtual machines (VMs). Responsibilities will include Linux system administration and general systems engineering support. The engineer will monitor email and chat communications for mission-critical updates, issues, and support requests, then use JIRA to track and resolve tickets. The team supports mission and operations users and their desktop environments. Responsibilities will include supporting authentication, Domain Name System (DNS), shared drives, and home directories to help maintain connectivity and access across the environment.

Must have Linux Administration experience

Requirements

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: A current and active TS/SCI clearance with a Maryland (MD) polygraph is required for consideration. CCA candidates will not be considered for this position at this time.

Required Skills:

• Solid Experience with STE/STN, DISA STIG compliance work on Linux Systems
• Experience with LINUX Administration (SA1/2 level)
• Virtualization (VMWare, RH KVM, Proxmox...)
• Some Experience with Containers/Cloud environments
• IP networking and Firewall experience.
• Experience with automation tools is a bonus

Desired Skills:

• Have a solid understanding of PKI/TLS/crypto including crypto policies.
• Experience with automation tools is a bonus (Ansible, Salt...)
• Scripting (Bash, Python, Perl...)
• Application support and general troubleshooting.
• Hyper Converged Infrastructure exp (Harvester, Nutanix, Cisco Hyperflex...)

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus ten (10) years of systems engineering experience

OR

• A High School Diploma or GED plus fourteen (14) years of general system engineering experience (any Process Area).

OR

• A Master’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus eight (8) years of systems engineering experience

OR

• A PhD in a Qualified Engineering Field (See Note 1) or a related discipline (See Note 2) from an accredited college or university plus six (6) years of systems engineering experience.

Note 1 – Examples of qualified engineering fields include: Aeronautics, Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Environmental, Mechanical, Nuclear, Software, Systems, and Engineering Management. Similar or comparable degrees will be acceptable.

Note 2 - Examples of related disciplines include: Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, and Physics. Similar or comparable degrees will be acceptable.
