Job summary

CSG, Inc. is seeking a Network Engineer to design and support secure LAN/WAN infrastructure at Ft. Meade. The role focuses on enterprise security, routing/switching, and virtualization while requiring DoD 8570 IAT II certification and a TS/SCI with Polygraphs clearance.

The candidate will configure Cisco devices, load balancers, IPsec VPNs, and manage network boundaries, with on-call duties and Remedy ticketing responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Requires DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification.
• Bachelor’s degree plus minimum experience or equivalent experience.
• Experience with LAN/WAN network design and security.

Responsibilities

• Provide network design and enterprise security boundary management.
• Configure Cisco routers/switches, load balancers, and IPsec VPNs.
• Maintain TCP/IP stack, routing and switching protocols.
• Support L2/L3 networking and stateful firewalls.
• Operate in live call environments and use Remedy for ticketing.
• Work with virtualization tech such as VMware and Solaris containers.
• Support on-call requirements.

POSITION: Network Engineer

LOCATION: Ft. Meade, Maryland

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provides Network support that requires system level design, architecture or enterprise security and security boundaries, datacenter virtualization, CAN/MAN/LAN infrastructure packet capture software, TCP/IP protocol stack, routing/switching protocols, stateful firewalls, and L3/L4 access controls.

• (U) Cisco IOS, CatOS, NxOS, filter and access control, Ciscoworks, TACACS+, ASA, FWSM, HP Openview, Cisco routers, Cisco Switches, F5/Cisco load balancers, Infiniband, Juniper, FiberChannel (FC) SAN, and VPN (IPSEC)
• (U) Physical installation and configuration and troubleshooting of network routers, switches, load balancers and security devices.
• (U) Strong knowledge of TCP/IP protocol stack and routing and switching protocols.
• (U) Strong working knowledge of L2/L3 protocols.
• (U) Strong working knowledge of stateful firewalls, and L3 access controls.
• (U) Working knowledge of Atlassian Tool Suite.
• (U) Able to support on-call requirements.
• (U) Able to work in live call environment and utilize remedy and/or other ticketing system to track tasking.
• (U) Virtualization products; VMWare and Solaris containers.

LCAT QUALIFICATIONS:

CERTIFICATION: DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification

EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree + 3 years minimum experience, OR
• No Degree + 5 years minimum experience, OR

• 3 (three) years demonstrable experience in network engineering (LAN), architecture, monitoring, security, and protection. Must have datacenter network design and architecture experience to include installation and configuration of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and IPSEC virtual private networks.
• 2 (two) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree.

NOTE: Bachelor’s degree in related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
