Job summary

CSG, Inc. is seeking an Expert Network Engineer to support Fort Meade-based operations. The role demands system-level design, enterprise security architecture, and datacenter virtualization across CAN/MAN/LAN networks.

You will install, configure, troubleshoot, and optimize Cisco/ASA/FP-based networks, VPNs, and security devices while creating diagrams and presenting to management. DoD 8570 IAT II certification is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 10+ years in network engineering.
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification is required.
• Experience with Cisco, Juniper, and network security devices.
• Ability to design enterprise security, datacenter architectures and CAN/MAN/LAN networks.

Responsibilities

• Provide network support involving system-level design, architecture, security boundaries, and datacenter virtualization.
• Perform physical installation, configuration, troubleshooting of routers, switches, load balancers and security devices.
• Deliver expert-level installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization of Cisco-based network components.
• Demonstrate system-level design/architecture experience in enterprise security and datacenter environments.
• Create system diagrams and present high-level management briefings; experience with packet capture software.

POSITION: Expert Network Engineer

LOCATION: Ft. Meade, Maryland

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Provides Network support that requires system level design, architecture or enterprise security and security boundaries, datacenter virtualization, CAN/MAN/LAN infrastructure packet capture software, TCP/IP protocol stack, routing/switching protocols, stateful firewalls, and L3/L4 access controls (all three supported locations).

• (U) Cisco IOS, CatOS, NxOS, filter and access control, Ciscoworks, TACACS+, ASA, FWSM, HP Openview, Cisco routers, Cisco Switches, F5/Cisco load balancers, Infiniband, Juniper, FiberChannel (FC) SAN, and VPN (IPSEC)
• (U) Physical installation and configuration and troubleshooting of network routers, switches, load balancers and security devices
• (U) Expert level support to include physical installation, configuration, troubleshooting, and optimization of network routers, switches, load balancers, and security devices (Cisco- based)
• (U) Experienced in system level design and architecture of enterprise security, datacenter virtualization, and CAN/MAN/LAN infrastructure
• (U) Expert security enterprise boundary and datacenter architecture and design
• (U) Create system diagrams and present high-level presentations to management. Experienced in packet capture software

LCAT QUALIFICATIONS:

CERTIFICATION: DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification

EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree + 10 years minimum experience, OR
• No Degree + 15 years minimum experience, OR
• Ten (10) years demonstrable experience in network engineering (LAN), architecture, monitoring, security, and protection
• Must have datacenter network design and architecture experience to include installation and configuration of Cisco routers, switches, firewalls, and IPSEC virtual private networks
• Five (5) years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree

NOTE: Bachelor’s degree in related discipline from an accredited college or university is required.
