Job summary

Martignetti Companies is seeking an experienced Network Engineer in Taunton, MA to design, support, secure, and improve our network across corporate, warehouse, and remote locations. You will work hands-on with routing, switching, firewalls, wireless, remote access, and core network services while collaborating on infrastructure projects.

The role requires 3–5 years of enterprise network engineering experience and a bachelor's degree in IT/Networking.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with routing, switching, firewalls, wireless, remote access and security.
• Experience with Sonicwall firewalls and Cisco/Aruba devices.
• Strong TCP/IP, VLANs, ACLs, NAT, QoS, HA, OSPF/EIGRP.
• Certifications such as CCNP/CCNA, Fortinet NSE, CompTIA Network+ or equivalent hands-on are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support enterprise network solutions across LAN, WAN, DMZ, wireless, firewall, remote access, and security environments.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues and act as senior escalation point for guidance.
• Lead projects like site buildouts, hardware refreshes, firewall updates, network segmentation, and circuit upgrades.
• Monitor availability and performance; recommend improvements for reliability, security, and scalability.
• Maintain network documentation, diagrams, standards, procedures, and implementation plans.
• Support core services like Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and related infrastructure dependencies.
• Collaborate with internal teams, carriers, vendors, and MSPs to resolve issues and deliver network improvements.
• Participate in change control, maintenance windows, disaster recovery planning, and after-hours support.
• Participate in 7x24 on-call rotation.

Martignetti is looking for an experienced Network Engineer who enjoys solving complex problems, building reliable infrastructure, and working with a collaborative IT team. In this role, you will help design, support, secure, and improve the network that connects our corporate, warehouse, and remote locations. You will work hands-on with routing, switching, firewalls, wireless, remote access, and core network services while also contributing to infrastructure projects that support the business.

Location

• This role does not offer sponsorship nor relocation
• Taunton, Massachusetts/ Hybrid based on business needs

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and support enterprise network solutions across LAN, WAN, DMZ, wireless, firewall, remote access, and security environments.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues and serve as a senior escalation point when support teams need deeper technical guidance.
• Lead and support projects such as site buildouts, hardware refreshes, firewall updates, network segmentation, and circuit upgrades.
• Monitor network availability and performance and recommend improvements that increase reliability, security, and scalability.
• Maintain clear network documentation, diagrams, standards, procedures, and implementation plans.
• Support core services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, NPS, authentication, and related infrastructure dependencies.
• Work with internal teams, carriers, vendors, and managed service providers to resolve issues and deliver network improvements.
• Participate in change control, maintenance windows, disaster recovery planning, and occasional after-hours support.
• Participate in an on call 7 x 24 rotation

Requirements

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Hands-on experience with routing, switching, firewalls, wireless, remote access, segmentation, and network security technologies.
• Experience with Sonicwall firewalls, Cisco or Aruba switches, Cisco or Aruba wireless access points, and controllers.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, subnetting, access control lists, network address translation, quality of service, high availability, eBGP, iBGP, EIGRP, and OSPF.
• Experience using monitoring, logging, packet capture, configuration backup, troubleshooting, and performance analysis tools.
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools
• Certifications such as CCNP, CCNA, Fortinet NSE, CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent hands-on experience are a plus.
• A collaborative working style, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to explain technical issues clearly to both IT and business partners.

Education/Experience/Training:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field is preferred
• 3-5 years of enterprise network engineering experience

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: $90,000-$100,000
• Bonus: Eligible to earn up to a 5% Incentive Bonus annually
• Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and retirement plans

Physical Demands and Environment

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
• Work requires the employee to bend, kneel, crouch, or reach as may be necessary to accomplish tasks
• Work requires considerable mental concentration to effectively execute complex tasks requiring periods of focused mental and visual concentration
• Works in a standard office environment
• Ability to travel occasionally, support planned maintenance or urgent issues after hours or on weekends
• Minimal potential for injury in the performance of duties
