Job summary

Sierra Nevada Company, LLC in Plano, TX is seeking an experienced Network Engineer II to support the development, integration, and sustainment of advanced network architectures enabling Joint All‑Domain Command and Control (JADC2) operations across air, land, sea, space, and cyber domains.

You will design and implement robust network infrastructures, ensure mission data flows securely and efficiently, and collaborate with cross‑functional teams on DoD RMF compliance and security controls.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with network security technologies (firewalls, VPNs, PKI, etc.).
  • Strong routing/switching knowledge (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS) and network tools.
  • Familiarity with DoD/government network environments and RMF/STIG.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex network issues in lab and field.
  • Security+ certification to support firewall administration.
  • Experience with IPsec routing and basic SD-WAN concepts.
  • Experience with Linux (RHEL) and Windows operating systems.
  • Active Secret U.S. Security Clearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and maintain mission-critical network architectures for multi-domain environments.
  • Support integration of sensors and high-altitude systems into distributed C2 networks.
  • Develop and implement IP-based routing and cross-domain data transport solutions.
  • Perform network performance analysis, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Implement and manage network security controls (firewalls, VPNs, encryption, segmentation).
  • Collaborate with software/DevSecOps and systems teams to automate deployment and monitoring.
  • Support IRAD activities advancing next-gen networking and tactical communications.
  • Document configurations, diagrams, and security artifacts for DoD requirements.
