Job summary

Proctor Loan Protector seeks a Network Engineer Level 2 to implement, maintain, and support our enterprise network environments. You will handle routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and WAN connectivity under established standards while mentoring Level 1 staff.

You will participate in network modernization, security enhancements, and cloud integrations across AWS/Azure/GCP, with on-call responsibilities and opportunities to grow technical expertise in a collaborative, team-driven culture.

Qualifications

• 2 to 5 years of network engineering experience.
• Palo Alto firewall, Cisco switches, routers.
• Working knowledge of BGP, OSPF, routing, NAT, VPNs, VLANs, and WAN technologies.
• Experience supporting Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, and DHCP.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Occasional domestic travel required.
• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain enterprise network solutions.
• Assist with network modernization initiatives such as SD-WAN, cloud connectivity, and Zero Trust implementations.
• Create and update network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Provide Tier 2 escalation support for network incidents and service requests.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues involving routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and WAN circuits.
• Assist with root cause analysis (RCA) and remediation efforts for recurring issues.
• Monitor network performance and respond to alerts to ensure availability and reliability.
• Execute network changes, upgrades, and maintenance activities following change management processes.
• Implement and maintain network security controls under established security architecture.
• Configure and support firewalls, VPNs, and segmentation policies.
• Assist with Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) deployments and operations.
• Ensure network configurations adhere to security standards and internal policies.
• Support hybrid network connectivity between on-premises environments and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Implement and maintain VPN-based cloud connectivity.
• Assist with cloud networking components such as VPCs, VNets, routing tables, and load balancers.
• Utilize monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as SecureCRT, LogicMonitor, PingPlotter, or equivalent.
• Assist with basic automation and scripting efforts to improve operational efficiency.
• Follow and contribute to infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices where applicable.
• Serve as an escalation resource and mentor for Level 1 engineers.
• Collaborate with senior engineers, security, cloud, and server teams on projects and issue resolution.
• Participate in on-call rotation and after-hours support as required.
• Continuously develop technical skills and platform knowledge.
• Other duties as assigned.
