Job summary

TEKsystems in Fort Collins, CO is seeking a Network Engineer II to join our Network Operations team. You will plan, design, implement, and optimize complex network solutions across multiple locations, including enterprise routing, wireless, VoIP, security, and WAN.

You will lead engineering work, manage incidents, and drive projects to completion while mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet business needs in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in computer science, information technology, or related field.
• 4-7 years of network engineering experience with progressive leadership responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of enterprise routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP, VRF, QoS, HA, LACP).
• Experience with Cisco, CheckPoint, Fortinet, Juniper, Arista, Palo Alto, and F5 platforms.
• Advanced troubleshooting and proactive problem-solving for complex network issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead troubleshooting of complex network issues and provide timely resolutions.
• Perform routine maintenance: firmware upgrades, patching, hardware replacements.
• Monitor network performance using advanced tools and implement optimizations.
• Develop and maintain network diagrams, inventories, configurations, and SOPs.
• Implement and maintain network security measures including firewalls, VPNs, and IDS/IPS.
• Conduct performance analysis and capacity planning for future needs.
• Evaluate emerging networking technologies and vendors for innovation.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
• Lead design and architecture of enterprise networks (LAN/WAN/DC and cloud).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams for integration and delivery of network solutions.
• Lead network-related projects from design to deployment.
• Develop and enforce standards, policies for reliability and security.
• Engage with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical designs.
• Conduct assessments and audits to identify optimization and cost-reduction opportunities.
• Participate in vendor selection and contract negotiations.
