Job summary

Arkansas Children's in Little Rock is seeking a Network Engineer II to design, deploy and maintain our LANs, WANs, and wireless networks across the organization. This role offers a hybrid schedule with training fully onsite and an on-call rotation.

The ideal candidate has a CCNA certification and at least 2 years of hands-on experience with IPv4 subnetting, Route/Switch, and OSPF. You will collaborate with IT leadership, monitor performance, perform backups, and maintain documentation.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree recommended.

  • Maintains network documentation and service records.

Summary

Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. — Hybrid schedule based on performance (Training will be fully onsite) — On-call rotation, 1 week every 5 weeks.

Additional Information:

The Network Engineer II ensures the stability and integrity of in-house voice, data, and video and wireless network services. Responsible for planning, designing, and developing local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across the organization. Participates with the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware, software, and communication links. Analyzes and resolves network hardware and software problems in a timely and accurate fashion.

The ideal candidate has a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification and at least 2 years of experience utilizing the following skillsets:

  • IPv4 format and subnetting
  • Route/Switch technology
  • OSPF routing protocol
Required Education

High school diploma or GED or equivalent

Recommended Education

Bachelor's degree in a related field of study.

Required Work Experience

High School Diploma/GED and 2 years of relevant experience, or 4 years of experience in lieu of a diploma/GED.

  • Designs and deploys organization LANs, WANs, and wireless networks, including servers, routers, hubs, switches, UPSs, and other hardware.
  • Configures networks to ensure their smooth and reliable operation for fulfilling organization objectives and processes.

  • Oversees new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades.
  • Monitors network performance, troubleshoots problem areas, and provides network performance statistics and reports.

  • Performs server and security audits, and system backups and recovery.
  • Ensures network connectivity of all servers, workstations, VoIP equipment, fax machines, and other network appliances.
  • Creates and maintains documentation as it relates to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
  • Participates in managing all network security solutions.
  • Practice network asset management, including maintenance of network component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
