May develop project plans for internal projects. Provides expertise in WAN/LAN configuration and evaluation process in the HealthCare Environment in coordination with functional departments (areas). Assist in the request for proposals and be involved in pre-contract negotiation of information systems. Assist in the development of WAN/LAN documentation to include relevant P&P relating to security, integrity, and functional areas of a system. Demonstrates proficiency as a WAN/LAN development. Install, upgrade, configure and support enterprise-wide network infrastructure. Evaluate, configure, develop, and test network and systems application software to ensure proper functionality at the network communication level. Assist in the monitoring of the WAN/LAN security to safeguard patient data. Under the direction of the Lead Network Engineer, responsible for an assigned shift as scheduled and for responding to problems 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
