Job summary

Air Methods is seeking a Network Engineer I to support and troubleshoot enterprise routing, switching, and security within a regulatory environment. You will assist in maintaining availability across data centers and Air Methods bases nationwide.

You will work under the Infrastructure Engineering Manager on deploying new technologies, documenting systems, and participating in disaster recovery planning, with a 24/7 on-call schedule and collaboration with vendors.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • 4+ years' related experience or training preferred.
  • Experience with enterprise storage and virtualization technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot routing and switching in complex networks (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF; VLANs; QoS).
  • Assist security technologies including firewalls and VPNs per regulatory requirements.
  • Configure and maintain servers, storage, backups, and VMs.
  • Support 24x7, distributed data centers and helicopter EMS bases.
  • Monitor servers, antivirus, backups, and data center health.
  • Participate in deploying new technologies and upgrades.
  • Provide escalated technical support and coordinate with vendors.
  • Document systems and follow change management processes.
  • Help establish policies, procedures and disaster recovery planning.
  • Interact with vendors/consultants to deliver products/services.
  • Escalate issues to Infrastructure Engineering Manager.
  • Other duties as assigned.
