Job summary
Black Box is seeking an experienced network field engineer to deliver and maintain client networking solutions in the San Diego area. Responsibilities include field installation, monitoring, and troubleshooting of LAN/WAN environments, with hands-on config of switches, routers, and load balancers.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, IT or related field or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years in technical support engineering or MSP/CSP environments.
- Strong networking skills: LAN/WAN, switches, routers, DNS, VPN.
- Industry certifications preferred (CCNP/CCNA, CCIE, MCSE).
- Experience with data center floor operations and SD-WAN.
Responsibilities
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve escalated network issues quickly and accurately.
- Perform data center floor support and field installations as needed.
- Monitor network health using SolarWinds and related tools; respond to outages.
- Configure and deploy switches, routers, load balancers; support changes.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams for service delivery and upgrades.
- Manage incidents, problems, and changes; document resolutions for knowledge base.
