Job summary

Eircom Limited in the United States West Virginia is seeking a Network Engineer to support delivery and operation of network and security services for assigned customers; you will work under senior engineers, assist with troubleshooting, configuration, and documentation.

The role emphasizes hands-on experience with Cisco LAN/WAN/WLAN and Fortinet, a customer-first mindset, and the ability to follow processes, escalate when required, and contribute to strong technical outcomes.

Qualifications

Demonstrable networking knowledge and CCNA accreditation or working towards it.
Understanding of TCP/IP, subnetting, VLANs, routing basics (OSPF), NAT, DNS and DHCP.
Awareness of network security principles and technologies (firewalls, VPNs).
Basic WAN concepts and access technologies; strong customer service and communication.
Ability to follow procedures, document work, and close tickets effectively.

Responsibilities

Provide day-to-day support for customer network and security services following SLAs.
Assist with fault diagnosis and troubleshooting across LAN/WAN/WLAN and security services.
Support implementation activities including device configuration, testing and validation.
Create and update technical documentation, build notes, diagrams and test results.
Follow change control procedures and ensure auditable actions.
Carry out routine maintenance tasks and assist with security controls deployment.
Collaborate with colleagues, vendors and partners to resolve incidents and requests.
Participate in a shared on-call rota and pursue training/certifications.
