Job summary

Scientific Research Corporation provides onsite network support for IT teams, users, customers and projects at multiple locations. You will help resolve VOIP connectivity issues and assist with troubleshooting and outages while supporting network equipment and circuit maintenance.

You'll create change notices, implement changes, and conduct quarterly failover testing to ensure network resilience. No clearance is required; travel is under 10%.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years experience applying networking principles to implement and maintain secure business networks.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DOT1X, Firewall Policies, Class of Service, and Virtual Chassis.
• Experience with protocols: 802.1D, Spanning Tree, LLDp, PoE, 802.1Q, DOT1X.
• Experience with VLANs and security zone configurations.
• Experience VOIP interface configuration and network diagraming.

Requirements

• 2-4 years experience applying knowledge of networking principles to implement and maintain secure business networks
• Thorough understanding of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DOT1X, Firewall Policies, Class of Service, and Virtual Chassis
• Experience with the following protocols:
• Transparent Bridging 802.1D
• Spanning Tree
• Link Layer Discovery Protocol
• Power Over Ethernet
• 802.1Q Trunk
• DOT1X
• Experience with virtual switch stack technology
• Firewall experience
• Experience with creating VLANs
• Experience configuring security zones and permissions
• Experience with configuring interfaces for VOIP
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to create technical documentation, including change notices
• Experience creating network diagram with MS Visio

Desired Skills

• Experience with Citrix Netscaler, and Aruba ClearPass, Aruba Instant Wireless and Airwaves Server
• Experience with SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor
• Experience with Juniper equipment
• JNCIA and/or JNCIS certification
• Experience with AAA authentication for switch access
• 2-year or 4-year technical degree
