Job summary

Scientific Research Corporation is seeking an onsite Network Engineer to support IT networks, users and projects at multiple locations. You will diagnose VOIP issues, troubleshoot outages and help maintain circuit and equipment health.

You will also create change notices and conduct quarterly failover tests, ensuring secure, resilient network operations across locations. A 2-year or 4-year technical degree is preferred with relevant hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• 2-4 years of experience applying networking knowledge to secure business networks.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DOT1X, firewall policies and QoS.
• Experience with VLAN creation, security zones and VOIP interfaces.
• Familiarity with switch stacks and network diagrams using Visio.
• Firewall experience and knowledge of network security principles.
• Experience with Citrix Netscaler, Aruba ClearPass, Aruba Wireless, SolarWinds NPM and Juniper gear.
• Certification in JNCIA/JNCIS or equivalent is a plus.

Requirements

• 2-4 years experience applying knowledge of networking principles to implement and maintain secure business networks
• Thorough understanding of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, DOT1X, Firewall Policies, Class of Service, and Virtual Chassis
• Experience with the following protocols:
• Transparent Bridging 802.1D
• Spanning Tree
• Link Layer Discovery Protocol
• Power Over Ethernet
• 802.1Q Trunk
• DOT1X
• Experience with virtual switch stack technology
• Firewall experience
• Experience with creating VLANs
• Experience configuring security zones and permissions
• Experience with configuring interfaces for VOIP
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to create technical documentation, including change notices
• Experience creating network diagram with MS Visio

Desired Skills
