STAFFXPERT LLC is seeking a Network Engineer Enterprise Network Modernization on behalf of our client in Salt Lake City/Midvale, UT. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced network engineering professional who is passionate about building, modernizing, and supporting secure, scalable, and highly available enterprise network environments.
The successful candidate will play a key role in advancing network architecture, implementing automation initiatives, supporting cloud connectivity, and enhancing network performance across data centers, branch offices, and distributed environments. This role offers the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies while driving modernization efforts that improve reliability, resiliency, and operational efficiency.
Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available enterprise network infrastructure across data centers, branch locations, and cloud environments.
Architect and support modern data center networking solutions utilizing Spine-Leaf architectures, Cisco Nexus, VXLAN, and EVPN technologies.
Design, configure, optimize, and troubleshoot advanced routing environments using BGP, OSPF, and related networking protocols.
Support distributed networking solutions, including SD-WAN, enterprise switching, wireless networks, and cloud-managed technologies.
Contribute to network modernization initiatives and technology roadmap planning.
Evaluate emerging networking technologies, architectural patterns, and engineering best practices.
Develop and implement network automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Python, Ansible, Terraform, or similar technologies.
Automate provisioning, configuration management, validation, and operational tasks to improve efficiency and consistency.
Implement and maintain network monitoring, observability, and performance management solutions.
Conduct capacity planning and proactively identify opportunities for infrastructure optimization.
Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, perform root cause analysis, and lead remediation efforts during critical production incidents.
Support disaster recovery, business continuity, and high-availability initiatives across the enterprise.
Partner closely with cloud, security, infrastructure, application, and architecture teams to deliver integrated technology solutions.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
Participate in on-call support rotations and assist with escalated production issues.
Promote engineering best practices and contribute to continuous process improvement initiatives.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.
8+ years of hands-on network engineering experience supporting large-scale enterprise environments.
Strong experience designing and supporting modern data center network architectures, including Spine-Leaf topologies, VXLAN/EVPN, and Cisco Nexus platforms.
Advanced expertise in routing and switching technologies, including BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, and enterprise networking fundamentals.
Experience supporting SD-WAN, enterprise switching, wireless networking, and distributed network environments.
Strong hands-on experience with network automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Python, Ansible, Terraform, or equivalent technologies.
Proven experience troubleshooting complex network environments, conducting root cause analysis, and supporting highly available production systems.
Knowledge of network security concepts, firewalls, load balancing, virtualization, containerization, and enterprise security best practices.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience with Cisco Meraki networking solutions.
Hands-on experience with cloud networking in AWS, Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Experience with network monitoring and observability tools such as SolarWinds, Grafana, Prometheus, Wireshark, or similar platforms.
Experience supporting enterprise network transformation or modernization initiatives.
Demonstrated technical leadership, mentoring, and cross-functional collaboration experience.
Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent networking certifications.
