Job summary

Tech People 247 is seeking a Field Engineer in Reno, Nevada, to conduct site assessments, install network switches and UPS systems, and support network cutover alongside remote teams. The ideal candidate will have strong skills in cabling, basic networking, and the ability to work independently. This role demands hands-on experience with hardware setup and troubleshooting. We're looking for someone who can manage both site visits successfully, ensuring all devices function correctly post-installation.

Job description

What Engineer Will Do:

• Perform site assessment (check existing switches & UPS setup)
• Take photos and note current connections
• Remove old hardware (switches & UPS)
• Install new switches & UPS in rack
• Perform cabling, labeling, and cleanup
• Power ON devices and check basic status (LEDs, power)

Skills Required:

• Cabling & labeling experience
• Basic knowledge of network switches
• UPS installation & power handling
• Ability to work independently onsite

PART 2: Cutover & Validation (Visit 2)

What Engineer Will Do:

• Support network cutover with remote team
• Assist in basic troubleshooting if any issue occurs
• Ensure all devices are working properly after cutover
• Perform UAT (User Acceptance Testing) supportRemove & pack old hardware (decommissioning)
• Take final photos and submit

Skills Required:

• Basic networking knowledge (switches, ports, connectivity)
• Ability to coordinate with remote engineers
• Troubleshooting mindset

• Smart Hands / Field Engineer
• Basic Network Support (L1/L2 level)
