Job summary

Ardent Health Services is seeking a Network Engineer to maintain stability, performance, and security of the network infrastructure across its healthcare environments. The role covers outage response, hardware deployment, and complex troubleshooting in a fast-paced IT setting.

You will monitor networks, document configurations, and collaborate with IT teams to resolve cross-system issues. Strong CCNA, 5+ years in IS, and a healthcare background are highly valued for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Associates’ degree in Information Systems / Computer Science or equivalent training.
• Active CCNA.
• 5+ years of experience in Information Systems, preferably in the healthcare industry.
• 3+ years of hands on networking experience with Cisco and/or Fortinet products.
• Experience troubleshooting and configuring LAN infrastructures, STP, Ether-channel/Port Channel configuration, Dot1Q Trunking, DACLs.
• Experience troubleshooting WAN infrastructures, routing protocols, IP ACLs, leased circuits
• Experience troubleshooting AAA and TACACS+.
• Experience designing basic IP schemes for branch locations.
• Experience troubleshooting basic 802.11 wireless issues.
• Experience configuring SNMP monitoring and logging.
• Must demonstrate strong ownership of responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes network monitoring tools to proactively identify and address potential performance bottlenecks, security risks, and network outages.
• Responds promptly to network incidents and outages, conducting thorough investigations to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Collaborates with other IT teams to resolve issues that span multiple infrastructure components.
• Maintains accurate network diagrams, configurations, and documentation.
• Troubleshoots LAN and WAN service issues on Cisco, Meraki, and Fortinet platforms.
• Configures switching platforms, Cisco 3750x, 9200 and 9300, Cisco Nexus, Fortiswitch.
• Configuration of routing platforms, Cisco ASR and ISR, Fortigate, Meraki.
• Installation of network hardware.
• Activation of leased WAN circuits.
• Participates in daily team meetings and various project meetings.
• Creates and reviews change scripts; works with security team to mitigate active threats.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Network Engineer plays a critical role in maintaining the stability, performance, and security of Ardent’s network infrastructure. This individual will be responsible for working outages, deploying new network hardware, and troubleshooting complex network problems.
