Job summary

Core Scientific seeks an entry-level Network Engineer to support day-to-day operations, deployment, and maintenance of network devices in a collaborative IT environment.

You will configure routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless APs; monitor performance; and provide first-level incident support. This on-site role requires teamwork and ongoing documentation of networks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field (or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of TCP/IP, subnets, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and routing protocols.
  • Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and follow instructions from senior engineers.
  • Internship or hands-on network support experience is a plus.
  • Entry-level certifications like Network+, CCNA, or equivalent are preferred.
  • Experience with network monitoring tools and ticketing systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor network performance and availability; respond to alerts and outages under guidance from senior staff.
  • Provide first-level support for network-related incidents and service requests.
  • Collaborate with other IT teams to support ongoing infrastructure projects.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for network configurations, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform routine checks and preventive maintenance to ensure network reliability.
  • Support inventory management of networking hardware and cabling.
  • Stay informed on basic networking trends and best practices.
  • Foster open, respectful, and professional communication directly within the team as well as with co-workers/ teammates and leaders across the organization.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Network Engineer

The Job Network Engineer assists in the day-to-day operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our network systems. This entry-level role is ideal for individuals seeking to establish a solid foundation in network engineering within a collaborative IT environment.

Location

This is an on site role. No remote work available.

Travel

Occasional travel may be required as needed.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely utilizes standard office equipment, including laptop computers and smartphones.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, and lift up to 50 pounds.

Position Type/ Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. General hours and nights of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Some nights and weekends may be required.
