Job summary

Core Scientific, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Network Engineer to assist in day-to-day operations, maintenance, and troubleshooting of our network systems in a collaborative IT environment.

This role is on-site in Marble, NC, requiring a Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT or related field and an eagerness to learn. Responsibilities include configuring devices, monitoring performance, and providing first-level support while working under guidance from senior engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, subnets, VLANs, DNS, DHCP, NAT, and routing protocols.
• Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking equipment.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Internship or hands-on experience in a network support role is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in configuring, deploying, and maintaining network devices including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
• Monitor network performance and availability; respond to alerts and outages under guidance from senior staff.
• Provide first-level support for network-related incidents and service requests.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to support ongoing infrastructure projects.
• Maintain accurate documentation for network configurations, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
• Perform routine checks and preventive maintenance to ensure network reliability.
