Akkodis is seeking a Network Engineer for a W2 contract-to-hire position, primarily remote with duties based in Bonita Springs, FL. The role involves designing, implementing, and managing enterprise networks, including security architectures and VPN connectivity.

Qualified candidates will have 5+ years of network engineering experience, strong Fortinet and Cisco background, and a track record of network optimization and documentation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of network engineering experience.
• Experience with Fortinet Fortinet suite products (Fortigate, FortiSwitch, Fortimanager, FortiAnalyzer).
• Experience with Cisco routers and switches; Meraki access points.
• Understanding of BGP and EIGRP routing.
• HA configurations for firewalls, switches and routers.
• Scripting experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, install and manage enterprise networks; lead architecture changes.
• Develop, implement, maintain network security systems (firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPN).
• Collaborate with vendors and customers on secure connectivity solutions.
• Provide incident response, diagnose hardware/software/network issues, and train end-users.
• Create and maintain documentation of network topology, configurations and standards.
• Provide project status updates and ensure SLA adherence.

Akkodis is seeking a Network Engineer for a W2 contract-to-hire position working remote in Bonita Springs, FL. This position will require in-depth technical knowledge to facilitate the design, install and management of enterprise networking solutions and associated components. This will include leading system architecture and design changes, analysis and resolution of system hardware, software, and networking issues.

Pay Range: $55.00 to $70.00 per hour on W2; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Network Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Contribute to strategic plans and reviews; prepare and complete action plans; design cost-effective networks which follow industry best practices.
• Develop network design and operational objectives by designing and engineering, evaluating, recommending, formulating, testing, and implementing plans for current and new technology
• Develop, implement, and maintain network security systems, such as firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and VPN gateways, to safeguard the company’s sensitive data and systems from unauthorized access.
• Research and recommend innovative, and where possible automated approaches for network administration tasks.
• Collaborate with customers, vendors, and third-party agencies to coordinate the implementation of secure connectivity solutions.
• Respond to technical assistance requests from users, diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues. Provide support and training to end-users on system and application usage.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of network infrastructure, user accounts, and system backups, and provide regular reports to management on network performance, availability, and security.
• Responsible for configuration, implementation, and support for network installations as necessary.
• Provide subject matter expert network support and troubleshooting for an enterprise network.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation as it relates to network technologies, network topology, network equipment, and configuration(s). Ability to document standards, methods and produce drawings of environments.
• Provide timely and accurate project status updates to customer contacts and management
• Analyze system reports, error logs and activity and initiate system enhancements as needed
• Oversee Managed Services to ensure network incidents and problems are appropriately resolved or escalated within SLA.
• Interact with customers and establish customer relationships to gather and analyze customer needs, assess available resources, and determine optimal solutions.
• Develop project plans incorporating resource estimates for project tasks and manage projects as assigned.
• Collaborate with senior members of the enterprise infrastructure teams.
• Advise management on technology roadmaps, evaluate vendor products, and make recommendations on product/service selection and current system upgrades.
• Train, educate and mentor staff, as necessary
• Participate in after-hours upgrades, troubleshooting, and/or on-call availability.

Qualifications:

• Must have 5+ years of network engineering experience using Fortinet suite of products (including Fortigate Firewalls, FortiSwitches, Fortimanager, and FortiAnalyzer).
• Experience with Cisco suite of products, including Routers and Switches.
• Experience with Cisco Meraki Access Points.
• Experience with BGP and EIGRP routing protocols.
• Experience with HA configuration of firewalls, switches, and routers.
• Scripting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of Cisco Voice / UCS/ UCCX as it relates to network protocols.
• Knowledge of Telecom circuits, SIP trunks, and data center operations.
