Job summary

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE) seeks a Network Engineer to lead design, validation, deployment, maintenance and 24x7 operational support for ICE's global network.

You will deploy and support mixed vendor infrastructure and drive critical service resilience across offices and data centers. The role requires 3+ years in production networks, deep BGP/OSPF knowledge, Python scripting, and experience with Ansible, VLANs, NAT, and Cisco/Juniper devices.

Qualifications

• In-depth knowledge of network principles in mission-critical environments.
• 3+ years hands-on production network support and troubleshooting.
• Extensive experience with BGP and OSPF routing.
• Experience with L2/L3 VLANs and Spanning Tree.
• Strong NAT, route maps/ACLs, and routing policies knowledge.
• Proficient in Python development.
• Experience with Ansible, Jinja, JSON.
• GIT for software collaboration and version control.
• Basic Unix/Linux system administration.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

The Engineer role within the ICE Network Engineering team provides leadership in network design, validation, deployment, maintenance and 24x7 operational support.

The Engineer role within the ICE Network Engineering team provides leadership in network design, validation, deployment, maintenance and 24x7 operational support.

The successful candidate will work on further advancing one of the largest and global financial networks with a wide variety of critical services as well as help drive large scale office refreshes and migrations. The successful candidate will be able to multitask in a dynamic team-based environment demonstrating strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities and the highest degree of professionalism.

Responsibilities

Knowledge And Experience

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering or related field
• In depth knowledge of general network principles and technology, and how to apply them in a service-oriented mission critical environment
• Extensive network routing protocols and troubleshooting skills in BGP and OSPF
• Experience with switching protocols - L2/L3 Vlans, Spanning tree
• Strong Knowledge of NAT, route maps/ACLs, and routing policies
• Strong knowledge of modern configuration management tools (Ansible, Jinja, JSON)
• Strong knowledge and experience developing in Python
• Proficient with GIT for software collaboration and version control
• 3+ years’ experience hands on support and troubleshooting of production networks
• 3+ years' experience with design and implementation on complex works
• Running and analyzing sniffer traces with deep TCP/IP protocol understanding
• Basic Unix/Linux system administration
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Excellent customer service attitude
• Ability to operate effectively and professionally under pressure

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with wireless technology
• Experience working with Firewalls and Load balancers
• Expert level network certifications
• Firewall and Load Balancer advanced certification
• In-depth hardware knowledge of switches and routers: (Internal chipsets specifications, TCAM and memory details, buffering capabilities and multicast replication details)
