Job summary

Nor-Cal is seeking an experienced Network Engineer to design and troubleshoot SCADA networking for utility-scale renewable energy projects in California. You will configure routers, switches and firewalls, emphasize cyber security, high availability, and compliant communication.

The role requires 3+ years of hands-on network gear experience, familiarity with Cisco, Fortinet and Palo Alto, and knowledge of TCP/IP, OSI protocols, and NERC standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Network Engineering or related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years’ experience configuring network routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Experience with Cisco, Fortinet, and Palo Alto.
• 3+ years’ experience with TCP/IP Stack or OSI networking communication protocols.
• Knowledge and experience with Fiber, Ethernet, and Serial networking technologies and architectures.
• Deep understanding of troubleshooting network communication, Layer 2 and Layer 3 devices, firewalls, servers, and virtual environments.
• 1 year of experience troubleshooting industrial SCADA networking issues highly preferred.
• Ability to ensure secure communication and NERC compliance.
