Job summary

Insight Global is seeking an onsite Network Technician based in the Atlanta area to deploy and support commercial network infrastructure across the Southeast. You will install, configure, and replace switches, wireless access points, routers, and related equipment, with rack-and-stack work and documentation throughout deployments.

You will travel regularly, maintain close coordination with remote engineering and project teams, capture accurate site data, and ensure adherence to installation

Qualifications

• Hands-on networking or low voltage experience.
• Experience with network rack and stack.

• Comfortable using a console connection.
• Ability to use standard low voltage and networking tools.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Based in or accessible to the Atlanta, GA market; willing to travel throughout the Southeast.
• Valid driver's license; comfortable traveling regularly.

Responsibilities

• Perform onsite network infrastructure deployments for commercial customers in the Southeast.
• Install and replace network switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and related equipment.
• Rack and stack work: mounting, patching, labeling, cable management, and equipment installation.
• Connect to network equipment via console connections and assist with deployment activities.
• Install, replace, and relocate wireless access points.
• Install and terminate low voltage structured cabling (Cat6/Cat6A).
• Terminate copper data cabling, route, label, test, and document.
• Organize patch panels, racks, cabinets, and network infrastructure.
• Remove and replace existing network equipment as needed.
• Provide basic troubleshooting of connectivity, cabling, power, and physical infrastructure.
• Follow deployment docs, diagrams, port assignments, and customer site requirements.
• Capture installation photos, serial numbers, test results, and closeout information.
• Coordinate with remote network engineers and project teams during deployments.

• Previous hands-on networking or low voltage experience
• Experience with network rack and stack
• Experience installing switches and wireless access points
• Comfortable using a console connection

• Ability to work independently onsite while communicating with remote engineering and project teams
• Strong communication and documentation skills

Scope of Work

Technicians will perform onsite network infrastructure deployments for commercial customer environments throughout the Southeast.

Typical responsibilities will include:

• Installation and replacement of network switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and related network equipment
• Network rack and stack work, including mounting, patching, labeling, cable management, and equipment installation
• Connecting to network equipment through console connections and assisting with equipment turn up and deployment activities
• Installation, replacement, and relocation of wireless access points
• Installation and termination of low voltage structured cabling
• Copper data cabling, including Cat6 and Cat6A
• Cable routing, dressing, labeling, testing, and documentation
• Installation and organization of patch panels, racks, cabinets, and network infrastructure
• Removal and replacement of existing network equipment
• Basic troubleshooting of network connectivity, cabling, power, and physical infrastructure issues
• Following deployment documentation, network diagrams, port assignments, installation standards, and customer site requirements
• Capturing installation photos, equipment information, serial numbers, cable test results, and other required closeout documentation
• Coordinating with remote network engineers and project management teams during deployments

Travel Requirements

This position is based in Atlanta, Georgia and requires regular travel throughout the Southeast.

Primary service territory includes:

Travel may include both single day deployments and multi day projects depending on customer requirements.

The company will cover approved travel accommodations associated with project assignments.

Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be comfortable traveling regularly.
