Job summary

IDR is seeking a Low-Voltage Technician to join one of our top clients in Alpharetta, GA. This role is ideal for those passionate about network infrastructure and working in a field-based, client-facing environment with a team-oriented culture.

You will install, replace, and troubleshoot commercial network and low-voltage infrastructure, including switches, wireless access points, and structured cabling (Cat6/Cat6A).

Qualifications

  • Active Georgia low-voltage license required.
  • Hands-on experience with low-voltage and structured cabling.
  • Experience deploying network switches and wireless APs.
  • RJ45 termination and patch panel work.
  • Comfortable with fieldwork and climbing ladders.

Responsibilities

  • Install, replace, and troubleshoot network and low-voltage infrastructure in commercial deployments.
  • Perform field deployments and ensure network connectivity and infrastructure integrity.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of installations, including photos, serial numbers, and test results.
  • Collaborate with remote engineers and project managers at customer sites.

IDR is seeking a Low-Voltage Technician to join one of our top clients in Alpharetta, GA. Position Overview/Responsibilities for the Low-Voltage Technician:
  • Engage in the installation, replacement, and troubleshooting of network and low-voltage infrastructure, focusing on commercial technology deployments.
  • Perform hands-on tasks such as installing network switches, firewalls, and wireless access points, as well as structured cabling with Cat6 and Cat6A.
  • Conduct field deployments throughout the Southeast, ensuring seamless network connectivity and infrastructure integrity.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of installations, including capturing photos, serial numbers, and test results, while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Collaborate with remote engineers and project managers, representing our client's team professionally at customer sites.
Required Skills for Low-Voltage Technician:
  • Must possess an active Georgia low-voltage license and have hands-on experience with low-voltage and structured cabling.
  • Proficient in network deployment, including installing and replacing network switches and wireless access points.
  • Skilled in structured cabling tasks such as RJ45 termination, patch panel work, and cable management.
  • Comfortable with physical fieldwork, including climbing ladders and working in network closets.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with VIP clients and team members.
