Job summary

Unum, headquartered in Chattanooga, TN, seeks a Network Data Specialist to research and resolve provider data issues across claims processing and record management systems. The role requires evaluating incomplete information, reconciling discrepancies, and determining root causes with escalation when needed.

You will support claims accuracy, provider directories, and data-driven decision-making while working with cross-functional teams to improve data standards and workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years in a data-centered, technical, analytical, or metrics-based operations role preferred.
• Ability to research issues, evaluate information, and determine root cause with sound judgment.
• Ability to assess downstream impacts and communicate findings clearly.
• Strong knowledge of provider data, claims processing, and related data dependencies.

Responsibilities

• Research and diagnose provider data issues across multiple systems and sources.
• Determine root causes and assess downstream impacts on claims and reporting.
• Evaluate information and decide resolution approach with cross-functional collaboration or escalation.
• Perform provider, location, and payee data updates within scope.
• Support timely resolution of issues affecting claims processing and data accuracy.
• Document findings and actions to support auditability and data integrity.
• Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements to data standards and workflows.
