Job summary

Boarhog LLC is hiring a Network Security Engineer to support the CANES program for NIWC Pacific TCI. You will plan, design, test, and implement security upgrades, analyze architectures, identify risks, and develop secure solutions for Navy/commercial systems.

Requires DoD Secret Clearance and Security+; HUBZone residency is a plus. Experience with SIEM/SOAR, ACAS, Trellix ESS, and GitLab/GitHub is valued. Remote options are not indicated; expects on-site work in a defense environment.

Qualifications

• DoD Secret Clearance required.
• Security+ certification required.
• RHCSA / RHCE, CCySA+ or CASP+ / CISSP preferred.
• Splunk or Sentinel certification preferred.
• HUBZone residency preferred.

Boarhog will hire qualified Network Security Engineers as valued members of the team in support of the Naval Information Warfare Systems Center (NIWC) Pacific Transport and Computing Infrastructure (TCI) Portfolio that requires networking, communication, and computer systems, and associated certification and information assurance for the development, current operations and planned upgrades for the Consolidated Afloat Network and Enterprise Services (CANES) Program.

Responsibilities

• Provide network security engineering support for the planning, design, integration, testing, and implementation of CANES systems upgrades.
• Analyze network architectures and security requirements
• Identify vulnerabilities and security risks
• Develop and evaluate security solutions
• Support systems integration and testing to ensure compliance with applicable Navy, DoW, and cybersecurity requirements

Education

Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer or Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or Mathematics with a Computer Systems concentration

Experience

• Five (5) years of professional experience in cybersecurity engineering
• RHEL 7+
• Windows Server 2019 through 2025
• SIEM / SOAR (Splunk or Sentinel preferred)
• ACAS engineering (not just user experience)
• Trellix ESS engineering (not administration)
• GitLab / GitHub
• CMPro experience a plus but not required

Additional Selection Criteria / Certifications

• Must possess a DoD Secret Clearance
