Job summary

City of Dickinson is seeking an IT Network & Cybersecurity Engineer to protect and optimize the City’s network and security posture. You will manage routers, switches, VPNs, firewalls, VLANs, and fiber, while monitoring threats and incidents to keep systems safe and available.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree and 4 years of relevant experience, with CJIS/CJIS security requirements. You will work with IT teams, vendors, and public stakeholders to ensure reliable, secure operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and four years of progressively responsible experience supporting network infrastructure and cybersecurity systems or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Pass Federal/NCJIS/CJIS background checks and security requirements for access to secure facilities.

Responsibilities

• Administers and maintains network infrastructure including routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls, VPNs, and fiber connectivity.
• Monitors network performance, availability, and capacity; identifies and resolves connectivity, latency, and infrastructure issues.
• Plans, implements, and supports network upgrades, expansions, and technology deployment projects.
• Coordinates system updates and testing; defines implementation requirements prior to deployment.
• Responds to cyber incidents and supports security testing, reviews, and mitigation activities.
• Maintains security logs and supports CJIS compliance, risk assessments, and disaster recovery planning.
