Job summary

Chisago County Government is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to deliver advanced cyber security services for interconnected E-911 and CJIS networks. You will configure Cisco devices, perform vulnerability scans, and maintain Linux/Windows environments while mentoring staff and leading IT projects.

The role requires CJIS background clearance, 6 years in information systems, and strong documentation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in Information Systems.
• At least 2 years of computer systems security administration experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Two-year certificate in data processing, computer science, microcomputer or related field, and 4 years of related experience, or seven years of network security experience.
• Successful completion of a CJIS background check and a valid driver’s license.
• Demonstrated knowledge of information security management, laws and regulations; strong project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage core network services and devices ensuring security and availability.
• Develop and enforce security policies, procedures, and incident response for the CJIS environment.
• Coordinate security risk assessments and remediation actions.
• Provide day-to-day mentoring to Infrastructure Services staff and manage IT projects and timelines.
• Prepare detailed technical documentation and reports for stakeholders.
• Interface with users to understand IT needs and ensure compliance with security practices.
• Oversee configuration and management of Cisco devices and VMware server infrastructure.
• Provide after-hours on-call support as part of the rotation.
