Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or military experience.
• At least 3 years of experience developing, evaluating or implementing technology or risk assessment activities.
• At least 8 years of legal, compliance, or risk management experience OR at least 7 years of regulatory experience in consumer financial services or payments industry.
• Advanced degree, including Juris Doctorate or Master’s degree (preferred).
• 9+ years of legal, compliance, or risk management experience OR 8+ years of regulatory experience in consumer financial services or payments industry (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide subject matter expert advice and effective challenge on compliance risks for network and merchant businesses.
• Develop expert understanding of network and merchant business processes.
• Analyze laws and regulations based on Capital One’s global legal inventory.
• Identify trends in business data and network payments compliance risks.
• Maintain expertise in the broader payments industry and applicable laws.
• Collaborate with first and second line functions to analyze risk management frameworks.
