Job summary

Synechron in New York, NY is seeking a Network Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and support a secure, scalable AWS network environment, aligning with enterprise architecture and compliance.

The ideal candidate has extensive AWS networking and Cisco expertise, plus experience with IaC tools and hybrid cloud connectivity, enabling secure, automated network deployments and ongoing optimization.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of overall IT experience.
• Hands-on experience in AWS cloud networking.
• Strong experience with AWS networking services: Cloud WAN, VPC, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, VPN, Route 53, Network Firewall, Security Groups, Network ACLs, VPC endpoints.
• Strong Cisco network engineering experience.
• Knowledge of BGP, OSPF, TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, and hybrid cloud connectivity.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Python, Ansible).
• Experience building and managing CI/CD or network deployment pipelines.
• Strong understanding of network security, segmentation, encryption, identity, access control, and compliance.
• Experience with network monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Network Cloud Engineer to design, implement, and support a secure, scalable, and resilient AWS network environment. This role will be responsible for defining cloud network architecture, developing infrastructure-as-code and deployment pipelines, implementing secure connectivity, and ensuring alignment with enterprise network architecture and compliance requirements.

The ideal candidate will have strong AWS networking expertise, hands-on Cisco network engineering experience, and a solid understanding of routing, security, automation, and hybrid cloud connectivity.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York, NY is $120k - $135k/year & benefits (see below).

Key Responsibilities

• Experience with multi-account AWS network architectures.
• Familiarity with CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk, or similar monitoring platforms.
• Experience supporting high-availability, disaster-recovery, and business-continuity solutions.
