Job Description
We are currently seeking a Full-Time Tier I/II Network Voice/Field Engineer with a minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience.
As a Level I/II Network Voice / Field Engineer, you will be part of a field team dedicated to resolving customer issues in a prompt, professional, and friendly manner while focusing on positive customer experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Provide phone, remote, and onsite support and remediation for network device issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve customer system problems across a broad range of technologies including network devices, peripheral devices, applications, and enterprise systems; hardware and software issues
- Experience with Telephony/VOIP
- Install new software and upgrades remotely and onsite
- Install service packs and security updates remotely and onsite
- Provide help desk support, analyzing, and resolving end-user issues
- Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP, using show commands for research
- Rack and stack Cisco switches (2900, 3700, 3600, 3800, 4500, 6500 series)
- Upgrade firmware on Cisco switches using tools like TFTP, FTP, or thumb drives
- Configure Cisco switches via command line through console and SSH
- Possess working knowledge of power distribution units (PDU) and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), including battery replacement and network connection
- Understand networked console servers such as Tripp-Lite and Avocent
- Knowledge of DNS and DHCP, including host records, reverse look-up zones, CNAME, and static IP addresses
Skills & Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in network engineering
- Bachelor's degree required
- CCNA, A+, and Network+ certifications are strongly recommended
- Project management and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of data center environments
- Knowledge of LAN, proxy servers, network design, implementation, troubleshooting, hardware configuration, and performance tuning
- Understanding of networking protocols such as IPSEC, HSRP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS
- Experience with Cisco routers, switches, IOS, OSPF, Layer 2 & 3, VPN, WLAN, LAN, WAN
- Experience deploying and troubleshooting NAC for wired and wireless access
- Experience with Infoblox DNS, DHCP, and IP address management (a plus)
- Ability to troubleshoot jack activations and connection issues
- Proficiency with troubleshooting tools like fiber checkers and cable testing applications
